The Bear In the RED Underwear
a poem by John Bear
with some help from Natalie

There once was a little white bear
who only wore red underwear.
Pink, yellow, or blue
just wouldn't do.
"Only red makes you look debonair!"

One day that same little bear
went to the Green county fair,
saw some cows and some pigs,
danced a couple of jigs,
all while wearing his red underwear.

Oh boy! Did those fair-goers stare
at the bear in the red underwear!
They were shocked, and amazed,
and a little bit dazed,
but the white bear just said
"I don't care!"

"I'll choose the color I wear!"
Exclaimed the little white bear.
"Red is bright, and it's happy,
and on undies it's snappy.
As a color, it's beyond compare!"

Then the folks at the fair did declare,
"You are right! We were being unfair!
Red's our new favorite hue,
and in honor of you,
we'll wear RED underwear at the fair!
